Scholarships

About Trenton Methodist Church Scholarship

Trenton Church has been blessed with funds which are chiefly used for scholarships
and/or permanent endowment purposes.

On May 12, 1997 the church accepted funds from Douglas and Charlene Guider
for scholarship purposes.

On July 24, 1998 the church accepted the bequest of Carolyn Gerdel who named
Trenton Church the benefactor of a life insurance policy and it is being applied
toward scholarship purposes and church projects.

The present committee for the above funds are:

Application Guidelines

Each applicant must be a member of Trenton Methodist Church.

The completed application, two letters of reference, a transcript, and a one-page essay on why the Trenton Methodist Church should award you a scholarship must be in the hands of a Scholarship Committee member on or before May 15.  One letter of reference must be from a teacher of the applicant.  A previous scholarship recipient need only submit a completed application.

Each applicant will be interviewed after May 15.

All applicants will be notified of the awarding of a scholarship on or before June 1.The scholarship will be made payable to the institution and applicant. The decision of the committee is final.

A scholarship may be awarded to a high school senior and/or a student presently enrolled in college.  High school seniors will be given priority in the selection process.
